Most of our guests combine great hunting experiences with a day on the golf course or thrilling photosafari adventures, especially if they have chosen to bring their family along on the hunting trip. Golf
Do names like Gary Player, Lost City, and The Extreme 19th sound enticing? Great golf experiences are within driving distance from Waterfall Lodge.
Legends Signature Golf Course
The Signature Course is famous because the 18 holes are individually designed by 18 golf icons, including one by Thomas Bjørn. But it’s the extreme 19th hole that grabs attention! The tee-off is situated on top of Hanglip Mountain and can only be reached by helicopter! Then, you have to drive 361 meters out, with a drop of about 400 meters?
Mogol Club
For example, start with the local Mogol Club in Lephalale, just 25 km from our lodge. It’s a quality course that is among South Africa’s Top-100. Clearly the best winter course in the area.
Gary Player & Lost City i Sun City
Continue on to Sun City and Gary Player Golf, famously hosting the prestigious Nedbank Golf Challenge tournament. Or why not test your skills at the challenging Lost City Golf Course—where crocodiles guard lost balls in the water on hole 13!
City Life
Lephalale
The nearest city with approximately 100,000 inhabitants, located 25 km from Waterfall Lodge, is Lephalale. Lephalale is a vibrant city undergoing rapid development and is characterized by hunting tourism, agriculture, mining industry, and game farming. The city boasts plenty of modern shopping centers, large open markets, local industries, as well as a good selection of bars and restaurants.
Sun City
South Africa’s answer to Las Vegas. An entire tourist town filled with experiences. World-class golf courses, fantasy hotels in all price ranges, and a casino. Just to name a few. Sun City offers something for every taste and all ages. A comparison with Disney World seems obvious. And as an added bonus, its neighbor is Pilanesberg National Park.
Boat Trip on the Mokolo
Mokolo is a massive dammed lake, beautifully surrounded by the Waterberg Mountains. The lake is filled with exotic fish and crocodiles, and most of the shoreline is designated as national park. We are happy to arrange a scenic boat trip with a picnic and cold drinks, alternatively an exciting fishing trip? (our PH is an enthusiastic angler) Our boat is equipped with a shade sail and a basic toilet.
